Are there any good activities for kids in the 3 peaks area - somewhere my husband can take the kids (ages 6 & 10) while we do the 3 peaks walk?

There are a few show caves worth a visit:

or a trip on the railway, especially is your trip co-incides with the steam trains:

You can do a nice very short walk from Horton along the river Ribble taking the west bank downstream from the footbridge at Horton, the first field usually has sheep and chickens roaming freely in it, to the footbridge before Craghill Farm and then return to Horton Bridge and visit the cafe for ice-cream or whatever.

If they're energetic, from Stainforth visit the falls and take the path towards Feizor but detour to visit Smearsett Scar and return along the ROW beteween the Scar and Smearsett Copy. Make sure you get THEM to log the trig on TrigpointingUK.com afterwards.

Another thought is doing the Ingleton Waterfalls walk. Four and a half miles of not too taxing walking and between the Pecca & Beezley Falls, just below Twistleton Scar End you'll find a strategically placed Ice-Cream van, yeah!!!!

Yet another thought, depending on the age of the kids, Settle has a nice playground adjacent Booth's supermarket and also a swimming pool where the main road crosses the river. The Museum of North Craven Life is situated at The Folly, towards the back of the town.
