On 31st March 2017 the Leeds-Settle-Carlisle line fully re-opened to rail traffic. The event was well publicised and appeared on the BBC News throughout the day and the Flying Scotsman steam engine hauled a shed load of carriages full of £220 paying passengers along the route, up and down from Keighley.
The end result is that for people from the Carlisle end they don't have to get up quite so early and don't have to use the rail replacement coach service to visit the 3 Peaks area.
You can view the current timetable at the following webpage - https://www.northernrailway.co.uk/travel/timetables, it's route number Seven and choose the Spring Timetable option.
