Subtle Change

Hadn't noticed this before today but for some reason it was so obvious on today's walk that I thought it worth a mention.

On the anti-clockwise route as you descend PyG and take the sharp left along the Pennine Way (at the waymarker post) I noticed that the route heading towards 'The Bog' has been 'stoned off', presumably in an attempt to deter hikers from heading towards Todber/Black Dubb Moss. Not sure how I managed to miss this in 2014 as I've a 2014 photo showing showing the stones in situ.

In the back of my mind I just wondered if the National Park Authority had removed the gates/stiles along the route over the bog so I did detours from my main route today to check such and they are all still currently in place - and it was very benign over 'The Bog' today.

Never noticed in June when I was last there - but wasn't looking out for it either as I had no intention of taking that route!

The waymarker has also jumped across the path. The last time I took the black dub moss route I took a much higher line off pyg above the crags to the top right of the photos where the path is not so obvious. I wonder is this part of a 3 peaks route management plan to keep the masses on a stoned up track, it is a fantastic route that seems to be becoming a more popular challenge.
