i am planning on doing the 3 peaks as part of the British Red Cross charity event on 16/7/11.

i have a couple of other friends who are now interested in doing the walk for pleasure, but dont feel they have the time to raise the required £100 in sponsorship that the Red Cross want.

as the Y3P is based around public footpaths etc would the Red Cross be able to stop my friemds from doing the walk alongside us?? i cant see that they could, but really dont want to drag them all the way to the Yorkshire Dales to find they are prevented from doing it.

any advice??

You'll be fine, the Red Cross may want to check the registered members of your team are still together for safety purposes at check points along the route (some organised walks do, others don't) but the route is available to all regardless of what organised (usually charity) walk is happening on any particular day - and in the summer there's usually some sort of organised walk on most Saturdays and many Sundays too.

Brilliant. That's what I thought, but still could to have it confirmed. Thanks.
