2 Peaks

Post by Sutton » 25 Sep 2013, 17:51

Just looking for some advice. A group of us are planning to walk part of the challenge this weekend. Were looking at doing Pen-Y-Ghent and then cutting a route towards Ingleborough and missing out Whernside. Can anyone advise me on reasonably straightforward route that will also allow some of the party to head back after the first hill.

Many Thanks

That could be two circular walks both starting and ending in Horton, its easy to see the footpaths on the OS Map.

But if its not too far for the first group I would consider following the three peaks route from the top of pen-y-ghent to Birkwith, then turning off that route and going to Selside.
From Selside you ascend to Sulber.
Half of your group have an easy descent to Horton.
The other half can go straight up Ingleborough from Sulber and then descend past gaping gill.
