Ribblehead Railway Station approach track

For those that are interested in such things, the Ribblehead Railway Station approach track (i.e. the track from the Station Inn to the railway station itself) has been resurfaced and no longer looks like the face of the Moon (craters all over the place).

Re: Latest news 24.07.2015

Yes. yes ................ but I'm not sure how many more steps these old knees can take in a day!! And below is part of a reply I've had from the 3 Peaks Park Ranger.............. 'Flagging – (in an) ideal world we would have a nice grassy path, the sun would shine on it to dry it out, people would ...

The late July 2015 version of 'The Guide' is now available. Re-walked the entire route in the last three week period (Ribblehead to Horton over W & I today - 24.07.2015) with a minor amendment to the early July version - the signage on the small vertical stone at Swine Tail (Ingleborough) has been v...

Re: Hi-Vis Paint on Pen y Ghent

Well, I'd probably agree with you (and as 'The Moth' says, 'it's hardly unclear up there') but I suppose one man's graffiti is another man's waymarker.

Mind you, I've never heard of anyone 'getting lost' on the ascent/descent of Pen y ghent!

Horton-Pen y Ghent-Ribblehead hike today

Did an extended higgledy-piggledy hike form Horton Railway Station to Ribblehead Station with one or two things to note (click on the photo's to see them full frame). 1. On the ascent of PyG from Brackenbottom the second gate (the small one atop the stone step stile) is hanging on by a single hinge ...

Re: Hi-Vis Paint on Pen y Ghent

These are the two Hi-Vis paint direction markers at the top of the upper section of the 'scrambley' bit on the ascent of Pen y Ghent. To be honest once you reach the first direction marker you could go left or right really. (Click on the picture to see it full frame).

Re: Amended (late) April 2015 versions of 'The Guide'

It's been reported to me today that there is now new signage on the small pillar indicating the route to Horton (my thanks go to Marnie for this information).

And having gone up yesterday (4th June 2015) here's the new signage - it only appears on the 'going up' side of the pillar.
