Re: 3 Peaks over 2 days in January
This is a 3 day, 2 night stop-over walk. You can just pick which stopover you want to miss and keep walking if you prefer. That time of year, just make sure you are well kitted out if you are walking alone. Day 1 Park in Ingleton . Walk past Crina Bottom, over Ingleborough and down into Horton-in-Ri...

Re: Scrambling/Climbing Perspective
Whilst the route does get a little steep in places there are no scrambles of the type that you will find in a guide book on scrambling. True, there are short stretches where I would instinctively start using hands, but nothing that should cause you concern. In winter it might be more of a problem, b...

The whole route is on public rights of way, so you can take a dog on a lead and plenty of people do.

Re: Any advice for a 3 peaks dropout please!
Its been really hot recently and a lot of people have struggled. Don't be so hard on yourselves. One thing immediately springs to mind - do a few short practice walks beforehand to test your equipment and legs. The other thing I would advise is to spread the walk over three days and do a peak each d...

Re: Rucksack size
I think with rucksacks its the weight rather than the size thats important. I often use a larger rucksack because its got a frame and I find it more comfortable than some of the smaller day sacks. But its a personal choice.

Re: Rucksack size
That should be plenty big enough. You need a certain amount of stuff - particularly water if its hot. But try to travel as light as you can.

Re: Fear of heights
It depends what kind of phobia you have. Its not like some walks you could do that scare people who didn't realise they were afraid of heights. Mostly the walk feels safe from falling. I'm not particularly afraid of heights other than a healthy fear of falling. Personally the steps up to Ingleboroug...
