Re: Hi-Vis Paint on Pen y Ghent

On an ascent like that everyone should be comfortable enough to make their own choice as to how they get up there. My major concern would be on one of these charity walks where PYG is generally tackled first when everyone is fresh - if they see the arrows it could form HORRENDOUS queues!!

Re: Litter

did the full circuit again yesterday - and whilst the litter was nowhere near as bad as it was in 2014, there was still some poor areas. The summits of both Penyghent and Whernside had a fair bit (Penyghent was worse as it always seems to be), and the bins in Horton were all overflowing. I appreciat...

Still just the 1 sign saying Horton there yesterday. Would make sense to replace what was there previously.

Re: Starting Point

Was successful in my 15th round yesterday. Went from Ribblehead with Whernside first. Was quiet when I left but when I got back at approx 1.30 it was packed.

Re: Clockwise or Anticlockwise?

Did indeed do the full circuit again on Sunday 14th June. Weather was pretty poor throughout but still a good day. Went anti-clockwise from Ribblehead and it wasn't that busy really. Even on weekends it seems Sundays are quieter.

Re: Hi-Vis Paint on Pen y Ghent

Was up there yesterday and there's a few yellow arrows painted on some of the rocks. good for those who have never been before but if everyone follows them it could lead to queues at busy times and the rocks becoming polished and perhaps too slippery for comfort?

Re: Clockwise or Anticlockwise?

All being well I will be back for a 15th round on Sunday 14/6/15. Despite my earlier posts it will be another anti-clockwise round! Although the weather doesn't appear to be that good so I may have to hold back.

Re: Starting Point

Did it for the 15th time on 14/6/15 starting at Ribblehead which is my favoured option nowadays, although the weather wasn't great it's still the way to go for me.

Seems a bit of an extreme measure - it's hardly unclear up there!!

Re: Starting Point

It's always busy around there - get there as early as possible is the order of the day.
